Wow, Optigold made it through Memorial Day Weekend without a crash. This has to be some kind of record.

Optigold makes it through the week?

This can only mean one thing. Optigold is destined to crash this weekend. And this being Memorial Day Weekend, that would not be a good thing.

Well, so far, so good.. It's been a few days, not sure how many, but here we are Thursday and Optigold is still running strong. That's good, because we had a few online signups the other day. The managed to make it into the system, and one even managed to add some email accounts without Optigold crashing.

So far, so good... How long it will last is anyone's guess.

Wow.. One whole day. I am impressed. Invoicing is now commencing.. Hopefully Optigold can make it through an entire week for once!

In a first, at least a first as I recall, Optigold made it almost an entire business week without crashing. Amazing.. Simply amazing. I have not idea what to thank for this dumb luck.

Well, it made it through a second day. Optigold is still running, and invoices were able to go out this morning!

Well the customer got in, after we rebooted Optigold of course

Well, my customer was able to get into the online billing and update his billing info, however when he went to change his password, Optigold just hung. It would appear that Optigold said FUCK YOU to the keychain on OSX and decided to ask for a fucking login password for it's God forsaken program linking crap implementation. I've seen it do this in the past, and the only fix has been re-installing the web server software.

What gives? Will there ever be a fix? Any update? HELP!!!

Optigold Crash - Another PISSED OFF CUSTOMER!

Well, as you might have guessed, the DB server died again... Of course this means online services stop working as well. Here is a nice email from a customer this morning as a result of Optigold's latest crash:

"ii) payment - cannot get through to
https://secure.hostdrive.com/customer/login.php - times out on me!!

I will phone later to sort it out! Need to do this today as I am travelling
again for another week from Sunday."

This customer is in ROME, so as you might guess, that phone call is going to cost some bucks. Wouldn't it be nice in today's day and age if a billing system actually remained stable enough to allow customers to pay online.

Who knows how many sales were lost as a result of this latest blunder.

Restarting the Web Server after Optigold Crashes

Crap.. I forgot to restart the web server portion of Optigold after the database servers last crash.

Spoke too soon! Optigold Crashes again

Well, here it is 2:30PM CST US, and Optigold died again. Right in the middle of some important signup, no doubt. Figures.... What gives? When will there be a fix for this bug?

Well, time to go restart it again!

Well, one day after another series of unstable days, Optigold is still up.

Give it some time, it will go down again. Hell, it goes down more often than Rosie O'donnel on a rancid crotch.

WTF? What gives. Why does this application constantly crash? Why was it built using something has hideous and unstable as FileMaker?

Nothing like a weekend crash. I figure Optigold just cost me about $9k in weekend sign up revs.

Dammit!!! Will this God forsaken POS of an application ever remain stable for more than 3 days at a time???

Well, it happened... Once again. After nearly 10 days of stability, Optigold took it's usual Optishit!

Day 9, Holy SHIT!

9 Days of uptime with Optigold? This is a miracle. I do not know what to say.. Well, still knocking on wood, and I am not holding my breath.

In reality, it does this from time to time. I mean, it will run for days, perhaps weeks... Then out of the blue it will start crashing, sometimes several times a day, or every other day.

One Week Later WoW

Well, it has been over a week now. 8 Days to be exact and Optigold is still running. This is amazing. I'm not sure what this latest uptime stretch is all about, but knock on wood, as long as it's still up, I'm happy.
