Well the optigold / filemaker combo on OSX still dies periodically.. Only the web server portion.. God only knows how many orders I lose as a result.

So far so good a few weeks now with the db server on OSX.. Of course the DB server was never the MAJOR problem.. The web server however still periodically quits..

Well, I finally got my OSX Optigold Backend database running.. It was utter hell getting things going since I could not get the developer to send me the OSX version for FM Pro 5.5... In any event, after a long painful few weeks it is up and running... Filemaker/Optigold is still pathetically slow, but hopefully it will remain stable for once.

Well, amazingly, Optigold managed to stay up on September 11. Go figure....

Someone HELP ME!!!

So I have not updated this in a while? Truthfully, I have been way too frustrated.. My doctor told me to take a break from Optigold for a while as it was given me an aneurysm.

Well, as you might have guessed, Optigold is still crashing daily, sometimes 10 times a day.. Lately it has been the OSX based Secure/Online web billing server that had been taking a dump.. Customers are getting pissed... Ironically, the customers getting pissed are users of DP.

When they ask me why my billing system cannot stay up, I simply refer them to the owner of DP and the Optigold Forums over at DP...

Optigold Crashes yet again, but I have a new trick up my sleeve

I've set up a nice reboot system so I can remotely power cycle the DB server and the web server when Optigold takes it's usual mid-day shit and decides it just wants to stop working..

Here's an email from a customer today with regard to Optigold.

"Hi Mia.Net Billing Team,

I wrote you an email on saturday, that I was not able to login to the client account to place the new credit card information. Can you please check my account?"

These guys were trying to pay a large amount on a hosting account. They got frustrated, and we are out some big buck. All because Optigold cannot remain stable.

It's Friday and Optigold is still running.

Optigold Secure Server Crashes

What the fuck? So far the DB server has been stable as hell for a week... Twice now the Secure / Online Sign up server has crashed... Well, not really crashed.. It just hangs.

How the hell am I supposed to sign up customers when this happens. HELP!!!!

Well, once again, I have another one of those week long stints where for no apparent reason, Optigold just keeps running.

I did manage to kill the secure signup server however last week while testing some new signup pages for our new Hosting Service, HostingLizard.Com.

Other than that, so far so good.

Well the customer got in, after we rebooted Optigold of course

Well, my customer was able to get into the online billing and update his billing info, however when he went to change his password, Optigold just hung. It would appear that Optigold said FUCK YOU to the keychain on OSX and decided to ask for a fucking login password for it's God forsaken program linking crap implementation. I've seen it do this in the past, and the only fix has been re-installing the web server software.

What gives? Will there ever be a fix? Any update? HELP!!!

Optigold Crash - Another PISSED OFF CUSTOMER!

Well, as you might have guessed, the DB server died again... Of course this means online services stop working as well. Here is a nice email from a customer this morning as a result of Optigold's latest crash:

"ii) payment - cannot get through to
https://secure.hostdrive.com/customer/login.php - times out on me!!

I will phone later to sort it out! Need to do this today as I am travelling
again for another week from Sunday."

This customer is in ROME, so as you might guess, that phone call is going to cost some bucks. Wouldn't it be nice in today's day and age if a billing system actually remained stable enough to allow customers to pay online.

Who knows how many sales were lost as a result of this latest blunder.

In reality, it does this from time to time. I mean, it will run for days, perhaps weeks... Then out of the blue it will start crashing, sometimes several times a day, or every other day.
